Thank you card

I've sort of been working on this card for 2 weeks.  I had picked out the image was had it colored but couldn't seem to decide what kind of format I wanted it to belong to.  Then I came across the sketch at Card Positioning Systems.

I made this card for my sister's in-laws who were kind enough to invite me to stay with them for my nephew's baptism.

I submit this card for the following challenges:

Crazy Challenge CCH #41 Thank you

Halloween catch-up

Okay,  I managed to fit in one more Halloween card and then I'll move on to Thanksgiving cards.  The fact the there are three weeks before the holiday means I should be able to get a slew of them made.

The sketch I used for this card was Sweet Sketch Wednesday's #73.

I used my newest  Gruffies stamp, 'Punkin' Head'.  I grabbed a bunch of white flowers from Hobby Lobby.  I chalked the flowers orange to match the chalking around the stamp image.

I submit my card for the following  challenges...
Drunken Stampers - before copics
Cards For Men - anything goes
House Mouse Challenge 81 - Halloween
Incy Wincy Designs#66 - anything goes

Card Details:
Paper: Target dollar spot Autumn Harvest, The Paper Studio
Brads: The Paper Studio
Chalks: Dovecraft

Card Patterns Sketch 88

Well, I figured it's about time to get back in the saddle with my scrapbooking.  Of course this means I have to fit it in between going to school full time and working part time, but I'm trying.  Unfortunately with the little time I do have, I didn't get all the Halloween cards I wanted done.  Ah well.

I used Card Patterns sketch #88 for this card.

I can't remember where I got the digital image from but I'll do my best to find out.  I certainly want to give credit where credit is due.

Unbelievable!!

I came home last night from work to find that my home had been burglarized.  Most of my electronics, except for the televisions, are gone.  Laptops, game systems, games, cameras.  Even my jewelry.  Not that my jewelry had much value, it was mostly items you would pick up from Claire's or Target.

I called the police but unfortunately, no fingerprints were obtained.   I suspect a boy that my son goes to high school with since the thief used our key from outside and cleaned out my son's room.  I have two dogs that should have scared the person away but apparently the thief knew where the dogs' room was because the door was simply pulled closed.

Creativity will have to take a back seat while I sort through endless mounds of papers looking for receipts and thus serial numbers for the stolen electronics.

Summer's Over

I think it's time to get back in the swing of things.  I have to admit, this summer I had no desire to do any kind of scrapbooking (or crafts for that matter).  However, now I'm back in school and I have a new job so I can feel the creative juices starting to flow once again.

Father's Day Card

I bought this cute little guy with a specific card idea in mind, but this wasn't it. LOL.  The original idea was for a friend with the saying that a nap was great at any time.  But this works for Father's Day too.

The inside of the card states "Spend it any way you choose."  Who doesn't like the idea of getting permission to nap?

I humbly submit this card for the following challenges...

Happy Hopper Birthday

I've had this little happy hopper stamped and waiting for the right card to come along for him. I have a cd container that I repurposed and it now holds stamped images waiting to be coloured.

When I saw this sketch from A Crafty Little Place, I knew my happy hopper had found his card.

My happy hopper didn't want to be an exact diamond though so I shaped him the best the image would allow.  I like the way he turned out.  I hope you do too.

And the inside of the card...

Just Us Girls #34...Template Challenge

This week over at Just Us Girls, their challenge is to use one of Lauren Meader's templates or create one of your own.

I chose to use Lauren's Bouncing Baby Buggy template.  My sister in law is having her third child and I thought this would make a lovely gift.

I also made a card to go along with the buggy.  The card opens up at the shoulders to reveal a gift card.

I'm ashamed...

...at how long I've been gone.  I can hardly believe it's been three months since I've posted anything.  Well, acutally I can since it's been about that long since I've created anything.

Unfortunately, I lost my job in August.  I was able to enter college right away and have been working on my accounting degree.  About mid February is when my professors started throwing homework at me and I was swamped so everything but that fell to the way side.  Now school's over (for the summer) and hopefully I'll be back with a vengeance!

So, I ran across this challenge over at Project Tuesday where they made joy fold cards.  It seemed like an interesting challenge and since I've never made a joy fold card, I was all in.  It turned out to be much easier than I anticipated and I'm pleased with the turn out.

Partially opened.

And opened.

I completed several challenges with this card.

Another Valentine Card

I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since I last posted.  School is taking more of my time than I thought it would...but it's all good.  Last night, I managed to put this card together using a sketch over at limelight papers crafts.  Of course I didn't get the card done in time in order to participate in the challenge but I liked the sketch so much, I decided to use it anyway.

Valentine Easel Card

I've been seeing easel cards on almost every blog I've visited in the last few months.  The cards have been beautiful and wonderful.  I downloaded the instructions 4 weeks ago but haven't had the time to really sit down and create one.  While watching NCIS tonight I decided to find the time.

I chose the Sweet Sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for my sketch.

I couldn't find the exact color of ribbon I wanted.  Either the ribbon was too wide for the card or the shade wasn't quite right.  While searching through my ribbon stash, I found a white fiber and a light bulb (75 watt) went off.  Why not use my pink ink and color it myself?

So I laid down paper destined for the recycle bin and used my Color Box cat eye ink and colored that white ribbon.  It doesn't show in the photo but I didn't liberally color the ribbon.  This resulted in the ribbon having some white edges on the fiber.  I like the way it turned out.

My first ATCs

I’ve never made an ATC before. Not that I haven’t wanted to but trying to do art on such a small scale has always been daunting to me. With Order of the Opus Gluei ATC challenge this week, I thought now is the time to put my fear aside and just do it. Here is what I came up with…

First I inked the top with Color Box’s blue lagoon. Next I cut out all the tiny details I would need before meticulously putting it all together.

Challenges:
Order of the Opus Gluei: Challenge #38
52-Card Pickup: 52CP03

Paper: DCwv The Stack 6
Ink: Color Box (blue lagoon)

My birthday and my sister's (we're twins!) is tomorrow.  So I made this card for the ocassion.  The card is not for her since she lives in California and there is no chance she'll receive it tomorrow.

House Mouse Valentine Card

This is the sketch, # 37,  for the week over at Unscripted Sketches

I've been trying to diligently work on valentine cards. Since I forgot (or simply ran out of time) to send out Christmas cards, I want to send out valentines. This sketch was perfect for my image that had been waiting for a home since last week.  Of course, it's another house mouse stamp... I should probably look into expanding my stamp collection but they are so darn CUTE!

I chose the color combination by using the challenge over Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog.  Her challenge this week is to use the colors red, yellow, blue, black and white.  I didn't like the plain white paper so I embossed it with my sizzix machine first.

Challenges met by this card...

Altered tin

I've been wanting a place for my cards to temporarily call home until they are sent on their way to their final destination.  I had them just dropped into a shoe box but of course that meant searching through the entire pile for just the one I wanted.

Just when I'd about had it and needed something different, along came not one but two challenges.  I cheerfully submit my finished card tin for the following challenges:

Squigglefly: anything but a card
Kaboodle Doodles: anything but a card

Supply List
Paper: creative imaginations
Others: crop-0-dile, glue dots, Bangle Bling jewels,

Another House Mouse Card

Over at Colour Create, the current challenge, Challenge #35, is lemon and lime colors with a spring theme.  The bright springy colors are just what I need right now.

I found the perfect image (of course being another House Mouse) and was on the hunt for the perfect sketch.   I found the sketch at Taylored Expressions.

Here is my card based on both challenges.  (Yes, I know the sunflower is green.  I don't know what I was thinking...I was happily coloring along when I realized that I didn't have the yellow pencil in my hand.  Considering I was half way through with the flower, I continued on.  I figure maybe it's a 'unique' sunflower.)

Pink Elephant Challenge #47

Here's my take on the above sketch.  I'm thinking I should throw a ribbon across the bottom of the card just for a little extra something.

Love my House Mouse stamps!

TSG35 and Cute Card Thursday #93

I created this card for two different challenges.  I've had this little character all colored up for several months now but with no card to go with...until I read about the challenge over at http://tsgclearstamps.blogspot.com/.  The challenge over there is currently TSG35 "Is is Spring break yet?"

I used the sketch from Cute Card Thursday's Challenge 93.

Ooh La La Challenge #44

This is my first time participating in a challenge over at Ooh La La.   Not from lack of inspiration (loved the brown and pink challenge before this one), but because time didn't permit.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I chose not to write any text because of the strip of paper I used already had words on it.  I'll include any text on the inside, I think.

Laura's Sletch 42

I must admit when I saw this sketch, my first thought was simple and easy.  While I did accomplish simple, it wasn't easy.  I struggled with the idea of so much space on my card.  Perhaps the patterned paper is too wide, perhaps the center strip is too wide...I don't know.  I wonder now if I should add more to the card.
