Altered bathroom plates

My husband and I have been remodeling our main bathroom.  We tore out the old laminate floor and stripped the wallpaper.  New tile floor and new paint and it was almost done.  Except a couple small details.
CHEETAH PRINT!!!

Here is the boring, biscuit colored plates on top of the cheetah print paper I decided to use.

Afterwards...three boring plates to awesome! (Can you hear the angels singing?)

And installed.  Doesn't that plate look much better than old boring biscuit.

Until next time...

Altered tin

I've been wanting a place for my cards to temporarily call home until they are sent on their way to their final destination.  I had them just dropped into a shoe box but of course that meant searching through the entire pile for just the one I wanted.

Just when I'd about had it and needed something different, along came not one but two challenges.  I cheerfully submit my finished card tin for the following challenges:

Squigglefly: anything but a card
Kaboodle Doodles: anything but a card

Supply List
Paper: creative imaginations
Others: crop-0-dile, glue dots, Bangle Bling jewels,
Stickers: Provo Craft

Father's Day

Father's Day is coming up rather quickly so I thought I'd post my gift from last year. I purchased the letter from walmart for >$1.00 each. The base was cut out and bevelled by my wonderful husband.

First thing is I painted everything blue...even the inside of the letters. Next, I drilled holes in the bottom of each letter and after marking the placement on the base, drilled those holes too.

Next it was adding the paper. I've heard of lots of people using Modge Podge but I don't have any so I simply used decoupage. Let that dry.

I added the photos to paper and adhered them to the back of the letters. Finally embellish and voila.

Baby Boy Altered Tin

Whew! I finished the lunchbox tin I decided to make for my sister. She's pregnant with her first child and I thought 'how great would it be to give her a tin filled with baby announcements?' This is the front. I first tried to decoupage the paper on (thinking it might be like this Modge Podge I keep hearing about.) but the paper kept coming up in the corners so I simply applied some tape underneath and all seems okay.
The back.

I had a lot of fun but boy was it time consuming.
