Valentine Easel Card

I've been seeing easel cards on almost every blog I've visited in the last few months.  The cards have been beautiful and wonderful.  I downloaded the instructions 4 weeks ago but haven't had the time to really sit down and create one.  While watching NCIS tonight I decided to find the time.

I chose the Sweet Sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for my sketch.

I couldn't find the exact color of ribbon I wanted.  Either the ribbon was too wide for the card or the shade wasn't quite right.  While searching through my ribbon stash, I found a white fiber and a light bulb (75 watt) went off.  Why not use my pink ink and color it myself?

So I laid down paper destined for the recycle bin and used my Color Box cat eye ink and colored that white ribbon.  It doesn't show in the photo but I didn't liberally color the ribbon.  This resulted in the ribbon having some white edges on the fiber.  I like the way it turned out.

My first ATCs

I’ve never made an ATC before. Not that I haven’t wanted to but trying to do art on such a small scale has always been daunting to me. With Order of the Opus Gluei ATC challenge this week, I thought now is the time to put my fear aside and just do it. Here is what I came up with…

First I inked the top with Color Box’s blue lagoon. Next I cut out all the tiny details I would need before meticulously putting it all together.

Happy Birthday Card

My birthday and my sister's (we're twins!) is tomorrow.  So I made this card for the ocassion.  The card is not for her since she lives in California and there is no chance she'll receive it tomorrow.

I used the sketch over at Taylored Expressions to create this cute bunny card.

I humbly submit this card for the following challenges:

House Mouse Valentine Card

This is the sketch, # 37,  for the week over at Unscripted Sketches

I've been trying to diligently work on valentine cards. Since I forgot (or simply ran out of time) to send out Christmas cards, I want to send out valentines. This sketch was perfect for my image that had been waiting for a home since last week.  Of course, it's another house mouse stamp... I should probably look into expanding my stamp collection but they are so darn CUTE!

I chose the color combination by using the challenge over Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog.  Her challenge this week is to use the colors red, yellow, blue, black and white.  I didn't like the plain white paper so I embossed it with my sizzix machine first.

Altered tin

I've been wanting a place for my cards to temporarily call home until they are sent on their way to their final destination.  I had them just dropped into a shoe box but of course that meant searching through the entire pile for just the one I wanted.

Just when I'd about had it and needed something different, along came not one but two challenges.  I cheerfully submit my finished card tin for the following challenges:

Squigglefly: anything but a card
Kaboodle Doodles: anything but a card

Supply List
Paper: creative imaginations
Others: crop-0-dile, glue dots, Bangle Bling jewels,

Another House Mouse Card

Over at Colour Create, the current challenge, Challenge #35, is lemon and lime colors with a spring theme.  The bright springy colors are just what I need right now.

I found the perfect image (of course being another House Mouse) and was on the hunt for the perfect sketch.   I found the sketch at Taylored Expressions.

Here is my card based on both challenges.  (Yes, I know the sunflower is green.  I don't know what I was thinking...I was happily coloring along when I realized that I didn't have the yellow pencil in my hand.  Considering I was half way through with the flower, I continued on.  I figure maybe it's a 'unique' sunflower.)

Pink Elephant Challenge #47

Here's my take on the above sketch.  I'm thinking I should throw a ribbon across the bottom of the card just for a little extra something.

Love my House Mouse stamps!

TSG35 and Cute Card Thursday #93

I created this card for two different challenges.  I've had this little character all colored up for several months now but with no card to go with...until I read about the challenge over at http://tsgclearstamps.blogspot.com/.  The challenge over there is currently TSG35 "Is is Spring break yet?"

I used the sketch from Cute Card Thursday's Challenge 93.

Ooh La La Challenge #44

This is my first time participating in a challenge over at Ooh La La.   Not from lack of inspiration (loved the brown and pink challenge before this one), but because time didn't permit.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I chose not to write any text because of the strip of paper I used already had words on it.  I'll include any text on the inside, I think.

Laura's Sletch 42

I must admit when I saw this sketch, my first thought was simple and easy.  While I did accomplish simple, it wasn't easy.  I struggled with the idea of so much space on my card.  Perhaps the patterned paper is too wide, perhaps the center strip is too wide...I don't know.  I wonder now if I should add more to the card.
